September 25, 2017, BSP Legazpi Branch – Representatives from Provincial Libraries as well as administrative heads, assistants and librarians from State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), and Private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the provinces of Albay, Catanduanes, Masbate, and Sorsogon were invited to gather at the Multipurpose Hall of Bangko Sentral Pilipinas (BSP) Legazpi Branch to participate and witness in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the aforementioned institutions to establish the BSP Knowledge Resource Network in their own communities.








BSP Deputy Governor Diwa C. Guinigundo shared the 3 steps in financial inclusion:  Access, Financial Education and Consumer Protection.  He stressed the importance of involving the community in educating Filipino children about financial inclusion, or the state where every Filipino has effective access to a wide range of financial services.  Through the BSP Knowledge Resource Network, the financial education of people in the grassroots level is targeted.  BSP has committed to establish and launch a Knowledge Research Center (complete with books, publications, online resources). The Lewis College is only private school in Sorsogon chosen by BSP to partner with.  The official launching of BSP Knowledge Research Center in The Lewis College will be in the first quarter of 2018.
