14th Founder’s Day Celebrations

IMG_4265January 31, 2015, Sorsogon City  –  Atty. Loida Nicolas Lewis, president of The Lewis College, graced the colorful 14th anniversary festivities of the institution.

In her speech, she quoted Pope Francis’s homily before the Filipino youth in Manila this year by focusing on what every person should be: “THINK, FEEL and DO well.” The program started with a parade at 7:30 a.m. then mass demonstrations followed.

IMG_3890Presentations came from the pre-school, elementary, high school and college students. Also, the selected trainers of students in the provincial and regional competitions were given certificates of recognition.

Atty. Loida Lewis mentioned further in her message that “Education is the key out of poverty,” and that the main goal of TLC is to create global citizens.  Again she quoted the Pope’s homily, “Know the language of the mind, heart and hands.”

As she closed, she reminded the Lewisians the core value of the school, its vision and integrity in everything that we do.  –  Rosie Cañelas
